The Audi A6 is a well-known executive car (E-segment), which the popular German automaker has been producing since 1994 as the successor to the Audi 100.

Since the first generation, it has been on sale not only as a four-door sedan, but also as a practical estate, referred to in the case of Audi as the Avant. Since 1999, the Allroad Quattro version has also appeared, which has a raised chassis and also plastic parts protecting parts of the car endangered by movement in lighter terrain.

The first generation Audi A6 is referred to as the C4 type and was produced from 1994 to 1997. It could be bought with a total of twenty-one petrol engines (9 versions with all-wheel drive (three five-cylinder engines, nine six-cylinders and two eight-cylinders) with a capacity of 1.8 to 4.2 liters and a power of 74-240 kW. There were also five diesels (one four-cylinder and the other five-cylinder) with a capacity of 1.9 and 2.5 liters and an output of 66-103 kW.

The second generation Audi A6 bears the type designation C5 and was produced from 1997 to 2005. It could be bought with a total of thirty-seven petrol units (21 with quattro drive, four-cylinder, six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines). The capacity was 1.8-4.2 liters and a power of 85-331 kW, and also with nine diesels (one four-cylinder and the other six-cylinder) of 1.9-2.5 liters and a power of 81-132 kW.

The third generation with the designation C6 was produced in 2004-2011 with twenty-one gasoline engines of 2.0-4.2 liters and a power of 125-426 kW, as well as sixteen diesels of 2.0-3.0 liters and 89-176 kW.

The current generation of this car (C7 ) has been produced since 2011 and so far can be bought with eight types of gasoline engine (one hybrid) with a capacity of 2.0-3.0 liters and a power of 132-309 kW, as well as with seven diesels of 2.0-3.0 liters.
