Sirius Star
Sirius Star (MV Manifa) is an oil tanker which, like many other similar ships, was built by the Korean company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. The ship has a total length of 332 meters, which is 1089 feet, and the cargo capacity is then up to 2.2 million barrels of oil, which corresponds to a volume of 350,000 m3. With this in mind, Sirius Star ranks among the very large crude carrier.
It is worth mentioning that it is the largest ship to date that has been hijacked by pirates. She was only freed by the payment of a ransom.
