Surgut-2 is the second largest gas-fired power plant in the world in terms of installed capacity. Originally, the entire power plant had six units with an output of 800 MW, which use Petroleum gas as fuel. In 2011, however, the power plant was expanded by two more units with a capacity of 400 MW, which use natural gas.
And the two newest generators use a combined cycle and achieve a very good efficiency of up to 56%.
