Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Plant
The Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Plant is a combined energy facility located in the United Arab Emirates, southwest of Dubai at the port of Jebel Ali.
This is a whole complex, located near the Persian Gulf. Nine power plants can be seen on about three kilometers. With a total installed capacity of 8.6 gigawatts, it is the largest gas-fired power plant in the world. It makes sense, because there is enough gas in the Persian Gulf without having to transport it anywhere. The complex also includes an extensive desalination plant, thanks to which Dubai can be supplied not only with electricity, but also with fresh water.
The desalination plant is the largest of its kind in the world, and can desalinate up to an unbelievable 2.135 million m³ of seawater every day.
