Opel Insignia of the first generation can be bought with a total of twelve types of gasoline engine (one LPG version and one FlexFuel version)(four 4×4 engines) with a capacity of 1.4 to 2.8 (2.8 are six-cylinder) and a power of 85-239 kW, as well as twelve diesels (four versions with all-wheel drive) with a capacity of 2.0 liters and a power of 81-143 kW.

The second generation Opel Insignia is available with gasoline engines with a capacity of 1.5 and 2.0 liters and a power of 103–191 kW. Diesel engines also have a capacity of 1.5 – 2.0 liters and a power of 81–154 kW.

In Opel Insignia gasoline cars, car batteries with a capacity of  60 -70 Ah are used, and in diesels, batteries with a capacity of 70 – 77 Ah.
