Xiluodu Dam
Xiluodu is an interesting arched dam, which is complemented by a very powerful hydroelectric power plant. The dam itself was created by damming the Jinsha River. The river was dammed near the city of Xiluodu, which gave the dam and power plant its name. Although the main task of the work is the production of electricity, of course it also serves as flood protection or even control over the mud, which caused problems in this area.
In terms of total installed capacity, it is currently the third most powerful power plant in the world and the dam itself is the fourth highest in the world.
