Taipei 101
Taipei 101 was the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2009. This year, the Burj Khalifa took the first place in the ranking of the tallest buildings. By the time the skyscraper was completed, it was the first building of its kind to surpass the 500-meter milestone with a total height. It also gained another first in terms of the speed of the elevators.
The design also introduced new elements regarding protection against the influence of earthquakes. A total of 101 above-ground floors are available, most of them are used as offices, but there are of course also restaurants or an adjacent shopping center.
